Name: Rafael Romero García
Affiliation: Department of Medical Physiology and Biophysics, University of Seville
ResilNet role: Principal Investigator
Rafael completed an MSc and PhD in Neuroscience before joining the prestigious Brain Mapping Unit at the University of Cambridge in 2014, where he investigated the role of neurodevelopment in mental health. In 2021, Rafael returned to Spain to establish a Neuroimaging and Brain Networks Lab at the University of Seville (https://neuroimaginal.wordpress.com/). Here, he leads multiple national and European projects leveraging neuroimaging and multi-omics approaches. Rafael has published 70 high-impact papers with over 6,000 citations. They focus on deepening the understanding of altered brain maturation in neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia, OCD, and autism.
